Being released on September 13th at Ever After in Disney Springs is the new Dooney & Bourke Little Mermaid Handbags. This collection will consist of three bags; the tote, satchel, and crossbody.
Personally I love the style of a tote more, but in this case, I like the design on the satchel and crossbody. I can tell you that part of this collection, if not all, will end up in my own personal Disney collection. Are you planning on making any of the new Little Mermaid Merchandise part of your world? If so, let us know below!

9/8/2019 0 Comments My Go To Epcot SnackIf we're going to Epcot you'll be sure to find me in the Germany Pavilion at least once (but probably more)! I'm all for trying different foods and snacks, in fact, my husband and I are planning to attend the next Food and Wine Festival because we love snacking so much. However, there is one that is my go to snack, that I will NOT leave Epcot without getting. Over in Sommerfest you'll find this beauty! Everything about this snack is delicious! From the house-made roll to the paprika chips, there isn't anything you won't like.
We found this little gem about 3 years ago on our first trip to Epcot. We were just walking through all of the pavilions and seeing what they each had to offer. Bratwurst are one of my favorite foods, so when we found Sommerfest I knew I would be coming back when it was time to eat. The cost is $10.29 and comes exactly how the picture looks. You can choose not to get the kraut if you don't want it, but personally its one of the best kraut that I've had. The downfall is there is very limited seating available. I've walked a little bit and sat on a curb, I've sat in the floor of Sommerfest, I've even gotten lucky enough to score a table in the pouring rain once! I will always find me a place to plop down and enjoy one of these bratwurst! On this last trip they had added a Bavarian Cheesecake that I decided to add. It is by far my FAVORITE Disney dessert! It was roughly $5 and it was unlike any other cheesecake I've had before. It was layered with white cake and cheesecake, and topped with this amazing berry topping. I've went through all of my vacation photos and sadly realized I did not take a photo of this dessert, and upon looking online for it I found out that it's not a dessert that they offer much! This is a huge disappointment as I would always get it each time I got the bratwurst now. I will still get it when it's available though! So if you're ever in Epcot and wanting the perfect snack, or even meal, I highly recommend visiting Sommerfest at least once during your trip! What is your go to Disney Snack? Let us know in the comments below or by shooting us an email! If you have a photo of the Bavarian Cheesecake and would like to share, we would love to see it! Much Love, Main Street Mommy Did you know that Magic Kingdom has an actual Barber Shop right on the inside of the park where you can make reservations to have either yours or your child's haircut? Neither did I, until my husband mentioned it! Anybody of any age or hair type can obtain services offered here, however, they focus on first haircuts the most. Which worked out perfect for my family as we were planning to take our son to get his first haircut, but what better place to do that than Disney?! PricingNow $25 for a baby's haircut is a bit pricey in my opinion, mainly because we could get the same service done here at home for $10. You also have to have park tickets to attend this barbershop. However, I thought to myself we already have park tickets, and how many kids can actually say they had their first haircut at Disney?! So I decided to do it! I called to make the reservation and was highly disappointed to find out that they were booked for the day. Upon walking into the park, we spotted the Barber Shop to the left of Main Street, and I told my husband that I was going to stop in and see if they would take my number incase someone cancelled. Lucky me, someone had cancelled their appointment right before I walked in! So we scheduled my son for 12:20 and went upon our day. Tight SpaceWe came back for my son's appointment not really knowing what to expect. The room is actually rather small, with only 3 stations for haircuts. They have a tiny little bench waiting area against the window which is big enough to fit maybe 5 people. There was only two people cutting hair when we arrived and they were both already with someone. The bench area was already full, but I decided to stand and wait by the door instead of stepping outside. It was really hot when we were there, and I figured my little guy would do better waiting in the AC than out in the heat. Once a seat became available we sat down, and waited for our turn. I would say we waited probably 15-20 minutes after our scheduled appointment time before we were called. The cramped area did make for an unpleasant wait, but we didn't let it get our mood down. Just know if you're going with your family, they may want to find something else to do while you wait. The ServiceI was super nervous on how this event was going to go. I'm not going to lie, with me becoming a stay at home mom my son is very clingy to me, and doesn't do well with strangers. I was sure we were about to have a complete melt down. One so severe that they wouldn't be able to cut his hair and I would leave embarrassed as everyone stared at my screaming child in my arms. This was not the case at all! The cast member was SO sweet, and though my son did fuss a little in the beginning, she made a space for me on the chair with him, handed him a light up toy, and just slowly began to work with him until he was comfortable. Between the toy and I distracting him she began to work on his hair. Anytime he would notice what was going on she would stop and hand him a sticker for being "so good", and then continue. The haircut itself took probably 15-20 minutes, and then once she was completed my son got to take his own little photoshoot. She had us all laughing and just enjoying this milestone in his life, that we didn't notice anyone else in the crowded room. Was it worth it?Once the haircut is complete the cast member gets a certificate to signify your child's first haircut in Disney. They get this cute little white drawstring bag with Mickey's face and mickey confetti on it, and they gather the curls and place them inside the bag. Next the grab the mickey ears that say First Haircut on the back and they do the complete mini photoshoot, making your child laugh all while telling you the best angles to grab with your phone. Then you get all those things handed to you in a bag for you to keep! If you're a sentimental mom like me, this alone will make the experience worth it. I will be making a shadow box with my son's items.
It didn't end here though, they also have "Pixie Dust" bottled up. They looked at my daughter and told her that they got a secret message from Tinkerbell and that she had asked that they give my daughter a little magic with the Pixie Dust. Her face lit up with joy and she hopped over to the cast member to have the "Pixie Dust" (confetti) added to her hair. This extra little kindness meant the world to me as they made my daughter not feel left out on what was going on. So was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! I would highly recommend anyone going down to Magic Kingdom with a child that is in need of a first haircut to stop in and see them. However, I would suggest planning ahead and booking an appointment well enough in advance to guarantee your spot. I was very lucky to have gotten a spot that was just cancelled. As many of you may have seen in the About Section, I am actually expecting our third and final child; another boy. We will definitely be making arrangements for him to have his first haircut here as well. I hope you found this blog informative and helpful when it comes to making a decision on having your child's haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom! Much Love, Main Street Mommy FREEZE! Main Street Mommy Traveling to Disney with an infant alone can be overwhelming, even more so when your infant is nursing. Which is precisely what happened to me during not one, but TWO Disney vacations last year. When booking our first trip last year it didn't even occur to me that our son was only going to be 7 months old and would still be nursing. In fact, it didn't occur to until just a few weeks before we left! Let me tell you, the anxiety that took over was over a level 10. The thoughts came flooding in, where would I feed my child? Do I bring pumped milk? What if he doesn't drink it? How long would it last in the Florida heat? What if he doesn't nurse, and I become engorged? I'm sure these are all questions that have been flooding your mind lately as well, but have no fear, Disney has your back! Each of the parks has a quite place called The Baby Care Center where you can go to handle all things your baby needs; including breast feeding. These centers have cool, dark, quite rooms that allow you to either nurse your child or pump. Even as I walked up to the Baby Care Center for the first time I was unsettled, I've never been a mom to breastfeed just wherever (big props to those who can) and I didn't know what to expect. The cast member was super sweet and guided me to the room where I could nurse my son. Believe it or not, it was relaxing. The rooms are kept cool, which is nice after hours of walking around in the Florida heat, and they are quite. The room has probably about 6-8 rocking chairs for all nursing moms to occupy, and though it may seem a little uncomfortable at first, the quietness and darkness made everyone else disappear. I sat there and rocked and nursed my son for a good 20 minutes at peace. The care center has a little lobby area for the fathers and other children to hang out while you're taking care of business, which also helps you relax because you don't feel like you need to rush the process. The Baby Care Center has another room with several changing tables spread out so that you can change you baby's diapers or clothes. They keep sheets of thin paper on the bottom so each baby has their own and protects against the spreading of germs. Each time a parent left the room I would see a cast member come in with antibacterial wipes, and wipe down the changing table as well. This is very comforting to see that Disney makes cleanliness and health a high standard. Throughout the day we visited the Baby Care Center several times. They have a nice little kitchen section for you to handle other forms of feedings, but it also has baby items for purchase. This was super helpful to us during one of our park days as our son dropped his bottle somewhere and we didn't notice. Thankfully the baby care center had a bottle for us to purchase averting our crisis. Baby Care Center locations Magic Kingdom- Located between Casey's and The Crystal Palace at the front of the park. Epcot- Located in the Odyssey Center between Test Track and the Showcase Plaza. Hollywood Studios- Located inside of Guest Relations near the main entrance to the park. Animal Kingdom- Located to the left of the Tree of Life in the building right before your cross the bridge into Africa. Disneyland- Located at the end of Main Street USA. Disney California Adventure Park- Located next to Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop and across from The Bakery Tour in Pacific Wharf. Other ways to nurse your infant in disneyI have to give my husband a HUGE shoutout for this next section. My husband is the KING of FastPasses, and with a lot of dedication and research he was able to find rides that our son was big/old enough to get on. From there he looked for FastPasses for these rides around the time our son would need to nurse or nap. These rides were a great help as all of them are in pretty dark rooms. This allowed me to nurse our son without causing disruptions in our day or making our 3 year old live in the Baby Care Center. I did not pump nor bring any milk with me to any of the parks either time we went with my son nursing. After park day one, all of my anxiety and fears went away. I was able to enjoy the rest of that trip, and we were back 4 months later doing it all over again. Is it easier now that my son is no longer nursing? Absolutely! However, it wasn't horrible with him nursing. Between Disney's Baby Care Centers and my husband the trip was barely any different than any of the others we have been on. What Rides I nursed onFigment- Journey of Imagination Living with the Land (in the beginning before I got to the garden) The Seas with Nemo and Friends Gran Fiesta Tour Impressions de France The American Adventure The Haunted Mansion The Hall of Presidents Journey with the Little Mermaid Peter Pan's Flight I hope this has helped to ease your mind with nursing in Disney. Let us know have you nursed on a ride? Which ride? What was your overall nursing experience in the Disney Parks?
Much Love, Main Street Mommy 9/5/2019 0 Comments Booking your first Disney tripYou've gone down the rabbit hole far enough, and you have finally made the decision to book your first Disney trip, but where do you begin? Booking a Disney trip can be an overwhelming experience with all the different options, and decoding the Disney terminology. However, Main Street Mommy will have you feeling like a travel agent yourself in no time. Staying on property vs off property Let's be honest, Disney is EXPENSIVE! So expensive that the thought of even staying on Disney Property seems impossible for some. What if I told you Disney actually has resorts around the same cost as hotels off property? It's true! Disney has a ton of options when it comes to selecting hotels for your stay, and they even categorized their hotels in three brackets: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. By doing this they have created resorts to fit almost everyone's budget. Value resorts can be as low as $99 per night with Deluxe Resorts costing up to $700+ per night. All Disney Resorts include: game rooms, quick service (cafeterias), gift shops, pools, and activities all within a short walk from your room. Making it convenient and stress free compared to loading the family up in a car and driving to find food or entertainment. Also included in your stay is FREE transportation to and from all of the parks, other resorts, Disney Springs, and more. Most importantly included with your stay is Extra Magic Hours to the parks (additional park time with park ticket purchase), Magic Bands, and FREE transportation to and from the airport. Staying at non Disney hotel you can expect to have some added expenses to your trip, such as parking at the parks ($25 per car, per day), and magic bands ($14.99 per person) to name a couple. *Magic Bands are not required, though they do make the trip hassle free.* The average nightly hotel cost in Orlando is between $135-$170. My family has stayed at many of the resorts on property as well as off property. Hands down, we would always choose to stay at a Disney Resort rather than a hotel off property. The perks of a Disney Resort makes our vacation stress free, which is the point of a vacation, right? *Check back with Main Street Mommy as we will prepare a blog on the different resorts Disney has to offer* Discounts and SpecialsDisney is known for offering multiple specials throughout the year for both resort stays and park tickets. Got your heart set on a certain date, but there is no current offers? Keep checking back on their website for specials that they have opened during your dates. With just a quick phone call a cast member will be more than happy to apply the special to your already booked stay! Hassle Free bookingThe whole process of booking a stay with Disney is truly hassle free. The online booking is so easy, that even the less tech savvy people would be able to book. Disney does require you to pay a deposit when booking your room, which is the 1st nights cost. Sometimes life happens and plans change, you are able to modify your booking online under your account info or by calling Customer Service. They do not charge you any additional penalties or fees for changing dates or even hotels (just the upcharge if the room is more expensive) if you make adjustments 31 days before your trip. My husband is very indecisive and many times have we booked a resort, and then he changed his mind and wanted to stay at different resort. With a quick call to Customer Service, a cast member has always adjusted our stay and informed us of either the new balance, due upon check in, or the amount of credit we will have applied to our account. Cast Members are super friendly and understanding to circumstances, so don't be afraid to make that call to have your booking adjusted. By using the online booking tool, you'll be able create a vacation package all in one place. Once you have selected your resort and stay dates, the site will redirect you to park tickets. On this screen you will be able to select the amount of park days you wish to add for everyone in your party. This is a very convenient option if you already know how many park days you want to attend. If you don't, that's okay, you can continue without adding them and then purchase them later. You do NOT have to buy park tickets at the same time of your booking. You can purchase park tickets the day of, or even at the park as long as tickets are available. After park tickets the website will prompt you to choose your dining plan. Though some families swear by dining plans, my family is not one to use this program. We recommend doing your research online or coming back to Main Street Mommy once we have our Dining Plan Blog up to help make this decision. The dining plan is not for everyone, and it's okay if it's not for you. The site also allows you to pre-purchase the memory maker or even book your flight right there. We personally have never used the flight booking, as our drive is only 10 hours, but this is a nice little feature as it allows you to maintain all of your vacation plans in one place. The memory maker, however, is something we recommend purchasing for your vacation, especially if you have more than one park day. The parks have several locations where a cast member is set up taking professional photos, characters have cast members taking photos, and rides have cameras that grab that thrill hill shot. By purchasing the memory maker you get unlimited downloads and print access to these photos. Yes of course you are allowed to use your own camera for photos, but you will be surprised at the difference in quality in the photos a cast member takes and the photos on your phone. Cast members are also able to add cute overlays to make your photos even more memorable. Ready to book? Are you ready to book your Disney vacation?
